CRITERIA & CAREER PATH

B.Sc. Nautical Science - 3  year's

This above program is approved by the Directorate General Shipping, Government of India. The design of the course is as per the guidelines laid down by the Directorate. During the 3 years training at the academy approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, the candidate undergoes theoretical cum practical exercises in navigation, Watch keeping, Seaman Ship, cargo and Bridge equipments etc. and complete mandatory STCW-95 courses. On successful completion of 3 years, B.Sc. (Nautical Science) is awarded to the candidates by recognized university and then he undertakes the sea phase of 12 months comprising on board ship training. On successful completion of the training and passing the exam, he will be awarded with a Certificate of Competency by the Directorate General of Shipping.
 

Eligibility : 10+2 with PCM with minimum 60% aggregate marks and minimum 50% marks in English at 10th or 12th level is must. Candidate should be fluent in written and spoken English.

 

Age: Not exceeding 25 years as on the date of commencement of training.
 

Medical Fitness: Medically fit with eyesight 6/6, without external aids. No colour blindness. Medical examination will be conducted by doctors approved by D.G. Shipping Govt. of India.
